Growing Up, an initiative of the Committee for Melbourne’s Future Focus Group, is proud to join with its sponsors in hosting this competition to green-roof Melbourne.
After calling for expressions of interest in February and March 2009, Growing Up short-listed the following buildings in Melbourne’s CBD who were eligible to win a green-roof:
- Manchester House, 234-236 Flinders Lane, Melbourne
- Monash University Corporate Centre, 30 Collins Street, Melbourne
- 131 Queen Street, Melbourne
These buildings were the subject of a design competition open to entry for landscape architects and architects and endorsed by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects and the Australian Institute of Architects. Design competition entrants were entitled to design for one building or up to all three.
The winning design was selected by our expert panel (refer landscape/architect & student submissions pages) and we are currently working to have it build by the end of 2009!
